You are never too old to learn, so while the kids are in their Sunday school classrooms we convene for some adult education time. The subject matter and methods change. We have read and discussed books of the Bible, we have done "book group" type sessions and we have used video lectures or films as material. We use the time to discuss the material and talk about how it applies to our daily lives. You don't have to do homework or come to every session. You don't even have to speak up, but if you are looking for a small group to spend time with learning about the Christian life, this is the place.

We have special classes for different age groups. They are taught by loving volunteers and emphasize age appropriate materials for the group. It's a great way to make friends and learn about the Bible at the same time! They are taught while the adults convene for adult education.

We have an attended nursery during the service and during selected special events. If there is a problem with a child we'll come and get you. There are baby seats and cribs for the tired ones. Don't let concerns about childcare keep you away from the fellowship!

For young girls we have a GEMS girls club. Typically meeting on Wednesday evening, they participate in craft projects, dramas and other activities designed to foster both friendships and a better understanding of the bible. The official GEMS website is here, and you can call Eileen Swank at (815) 459-4710 for more information about our local club.

For boys we sponsor a Cadet club. Similar in concept to Boy Scouts, but with a specifically Christian mission, there are thousands of cadets around the world. Crafts, camping and Christian fellowship with other boys and adult counselors is what it's all about. For those who can go the distance, there is the semi-annual Camporee which has become even larger than the Boy Scout's annual camp! Cadets meet on Wednesday evenings. The Cadet website is here, information on the 2002 Camporee is here, and you can call Dave Kragt at (815) 477-7375 for more information about our local club.
